Nina
Yoga
Yoga found me ten years ago. On my mat is where I found freedom, and it is where peace finds me over and over again. My mat has witnessed all my states, and still accepted me. Through grief, through mourning, through all my confusion, pain, the highs, the lows and all the in-betweens. In my practice, I found the space to express what I was feeling, I was finally able to face myself. I learned to lean into the resistance, the discomfort and to let go. I learned to show up, no matter what.My intention is to offer Yoga to every body, to create a deep sense of community and hold space for healing through connection.

Max Powers
Home Intensity Training
Max “Powers” likes to empower people to adopt healthy attitudes through movement. He has been doing sports all his life, starting with hockey and soccer as a child. As a teenager, he changed sports to focus on football, which was better suited to his physical qualities. He started playing football at the age of 16 and played 3 years for the University of Montréal Carabins. Unfortunately, a knee injury prevented Max from reaching his goal of playing professional football. In 2010, during a school sabbatical year, Max took a trip to Brazil and discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which redefined his concept of fitness. This form of martial art changed Max’s perspective on physical training. Mobility and functional movement became pillars of his fitness philosophy.
Following his trip to Brazil, Max rediscovered his passion for movement, choosing to make it his career and becoming a personal trainer. He first started as a Crossfit coach and obtained a CF Level 1 coach certification as well as a CF gymnastics specialization. As a CF coach, Max learned the basics of functional movement and how to teach all the basic movements of dumbbells for powerlifting and Olympic lifting. Through his CF gymnastics certification, Max learned the basics of body weight training and fell in love with gymnastics rings, which he believes are the best training tool to develop upper body strength. Always eager to learn, Max also obtained a new certification to learn how to correctly use kettlebells, clubs and Indian clubs. Max is one of the first unconventional strength trainers in Montréal. Very few trainers in Montréal know how to use, let alone teach, clubs. Max is certified as an elite coach under the ISSA banner. He is certified as a personal coach, corrective exercise specialist and physical nutrition specialist. Today, almost 10 years after his trip to Brazil, Max practices and teaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and recently received his black belt from the world-renowned Gracie Barra academy.
Throughout his career spanning more than 9 years as a personal trainer and fitness instructor, Max has developed a wellness system based on the 5 following elements: state of mind and motivation, nutrition, movement, recovery and the power of breathing. He believes that to achieve optimal wellness, it is necessary to balance each of these 5 elements in order to not only achieve wellness but also maintain it throughout life. Max plans to continue his health and wellness studies to introduce a more holistic approach to fitness in this ever-changing industry.

Her journey eventually became brighter, and she started having more compassion towards others and a great joy for life. Julie started teaching yoga to share all the positive aspects of the practice. After completing many trainings and guiding students for the past 6 years, her passion for yoga has grown and evolved tremendously. She is dedicated to helping others connect with their true nature by combining mind, body, breath and spirit.
Julie teaches vinyasa flow : creative sequencing combined with alignment and breath cues, the essence of this style is flow and rhythm. It’s all about combining mind, body and breath. Every asana (yoga posture) has a purpose. The practice always starts with a warm up which is mirrored into the peak pose or destination of the practice. The end of the journey is a complex reflection of what is experienced throughout the sequence. Every class will end with a cool down, where we stabilise the body for a well deserved savasana or final relaxation.

Marwa
Pilates
More than a Yoga and Pilates teacher, Marwa considers herself a movement teacher. Her passion lies not so much in philosophy and esotericism, but in what the human body is capable of and how that reflects what is happening in one’s mind.
This is the approach she takes in her Yoga and Pilates flows. Behind her challenging and detailed sequences is the intention to make the practitioner aware of what their cheats and bailouts are, how they can improve the quality of their movement but mostly use this challenge to notice where they set their own limits and boundaries and how they could through the practice, wear away and any resistance mental and/or physical.
